Tiare Barels, LMFT
Tiare is a warm and authentic human being, mother, and psychotherapist who takes great care in creating a safe and sacred container for clients to process the many facets of their being. In addition to being a trauma-informed therapist, she has been a student and teacher of yoga, meditation, and movement for over 25 years. She has a deep respect for the wisdom of the body, and often incorporate mindfulness and somatic awareness into her work. Tiare is passionate about the use of Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness to support our personal growth, our connection to a higher purpose, to find self-acceptance, heal from trauma, and to navigate grief.
Tiare has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2016, is trained in EMDR, restorative justice, and the art of council. She is a graduate of the certificate program in psychedelic assisted therapies and research at The California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), trained in MDMA assisted psychotherapy by The Multi-Disciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), and has completed additional training in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) with Polaris Insight Center and The Psychedelic Institute of Mental Health & Family Services.
As a mother who has survived the death of a child, she knows grief intimately and has a deep well of compassion that she brings to her work with others as they navigate the loss they experience in their own lives. Her own healing journey has included many different modalities including talk therapy, sacred community, creative and healing arts, dance, ceremony, ritual, and psychedelic assisted therapy so she know firsthand the healing potential of expanded states of consciousness to support quantum shifts in our relationship to ourselves and our life.
